The North East Centre for Lifelong Learning, part of the University of Sunderland, offers a large programme of high quality courses which are open to all and which meet a wide range of interests and needs in the humanities and science and in language learning. We deliver our programmes in Newcastle upon Tyne and in other venues around Tyneside and North East England. see map

Explore is our subscription scheme for Lifelong Learning.
Think of it as a gym for the mind.
You pay a subscription to the scheme as a whole and you can attend as many open events as you wish and choose from a wide selection of bookable courses at no further cost.
By joining Explore, you can learn about subjects in the Sciences, History and Archaeology, Literature, Art, Philosophy, Film and about current issues.

we have a wide range of European and Asian languages at levels from Beginners to Fluent Users.
Our tutors are native-speaker standard: you hear the language as used in its country.
